Professor Youngkin has been a member of the faculty at Valor Christian College since January 2005. He teaches courses he
has developed in communication, media and leadership. He has also created and taught courses at Valor in Old Testament,
New Testament, English composition, Christian ethics, theology and culture, family ministry and American government.
The son, grandson, husband and uncle of educators, his love of teaching grew from opportunities to work as a
corporate trainer and facilitator and to serve as an adult Sunday-school teacher and small-group facilitator in the Church.
He also works full-time on the staff of World Harvest Church, where his primary responsibility is meeting the
editorial, research and policy-analysis needs of the church’s local, national and worldwide outreaches.
In previous professional incarnations, Prof. Youngkin has worked as a corporate communication manager, business
theater producer, event manager, newspaper editor, radio news & sports director, proprietor of a full-service communications
consulting firm, sales support administrator, magazine editor and trade journal advertising manager and feature writer.
Prof. Youngkin is a past officer and committee chairman of local chapters of the Public Relations Society of
America and the International Association of Business Communicators. He is ordained through the City Harvest Network and
received professional accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America in 1988. He was active in prison ministry
for more than 20 years, including leadership roles in Kairos Prison Ministry of Ohio and as leader and teacher of World
Harvest Church’s outreach at Marion Correctional Institution.
Declaration Press published his first book,
Make Like Lazarus: A Biblical Perspective of Divorce and
Remarriage, in 2019. He’s also been published online in Monday Morning Quarterback, a
Sports Illustrated
website, and the
Sports Spectrum devotional website.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and long-time resident of Marysville, Ohio, Prof. Youngkin married the former Nancy
Lynn Broadwell of Centerville, Ohio, in 1998. They live in Pickerington, Ohio, with their three sons.
